What a bunch of rip off merchants. I dragged 120 of my mates down there for a private party; where I was supposed to get a share of the bar take. Never saw a penny. The drinks are well over priced, the décor Spartan and the location awkward. People left early because they couldn�t afford the drinks. After months of hassling them and several empty promises I finally gave up on getting the �250 quid they owed me. Don�t go there!

"Think 70s dad wallpaper, think 70s mum comfy old sofa's and think up the minute lighting and you have a two floor style bar / club called Play. A popular Clerkenwell destination - Play has a 4am licence Friday and Saturdays and a 2am licence during the week. Club nights include Playtime on Fridays and Playback on Saturdays. I sense a theme...Great cocktail menu including the Shamrock Express (espresso coffee, butterscotch schnapps, Absolut vodka, Baileys and gomme). All cocktails are two for one Sunday-Thursday all night, and they also do food - with buffet platters perfect for group grazing.Should you feel like giving pole dancing a twirl, then you can twirl here in confidence with lessons from Polepeople."

Open from 5pm- 4am Djs 9.00pm - 4am Free b4 10pm, ?5 after 10pm, Guestlist ?2 after 11pm free b4 11. Playback - SaturdaysStrictly funky house and beats across two floors as promoters such as Rise and Awake bring the sound of Ibiza to Clerkenwell for a sure-fire Saturday night party! Promoters on rotation including Hot and Spicy and Get It Off. Booking your own private party in a club with a late licence on a Sat is usually a nightmare. But a friend got in touch with Play and it worked a treat. We had our own floor and own Djs in this super two floor bar club. We all had an excellent time and best of all there was no fee and a super 4am licence. Def. recommend it.

"Looked good but walked right into a private party, with nothing to indicate that it was and virtually asked to leave after buying drinks. Their website also promises happy hour on drinks which the bar staff refused to honour. Poor service, disappointing overall, not in any rush to go back."
